NOME DE DOENCA RARA by Tome Duarte

4.00

Self-published

A5, 48 pages, black and white photocopy throughout, unbound, 2012.

Passed onto us from Joao Sobral of O Panda Gordo, 'Nome de Doenca' is one of a few from Tomé Duarte. I can't find a lot out about Tomé, but these zines are ZINE. They're excellent and have a raw photocopy and heavy black feel. Photographs predominantly, but also with drawings and some annotation. The smartest thing about these artist booklets is the repetition. Images are reproduced a number of times through the publication, manipulated, some aren't reproduced, but are similar, intensifying that immediacy the photocopied booklet is made for.
