Manchester imprint Comfortable on a Tightrope present Mosquito Aptly Flat by Rory Cook. A recent-not-so-recent review, but an eloquent review all the same, states:

‘Rory Cook's forthcoming pamphlet, Mosquito Aptly Flat, is released this year via Mancunian imprint Comfortable on a Tightrope. The poems that make up the work are actively modern in their composition, taking found internet text from inaccurate translation software. Texts in distinct styles are juxtaposed with one another, sending the reader on misleading paths at the limit of language, nonsense and parody. The result is a disorientating walk around a strange space that doesn't exist, punctuated by moments of recognition, clarity, romance - often very funny. They tread the convoluted lines between sentimentalism and satire in an advancing technological world.

He also runs the reading series Murmur in Manchester which has featured readers such as Kim Kyung-ju, Rachael Allen and Sam Riviere.

“Untitled":

Almost reads like one long poem written in Freiburg.
Very sad, very moving, very tragic and exactly the
kind of thing I like to read when I am cleaning.’
